چکیده
Abstract An attempt to shed light on the use of agro-industrial-based wastes as supplementary cementitious material (SCM) or alkali-activated binder (AAB) is mainly focused in this review paper. The SCM AAB acts a suitable replacement for cement, cement manufacturing tends contribute 8–10% global CO 2 emissions. To gain acceptability construction industry, diverse must demonstrate their potential precursors SCM. materials discussed among agricultural are rice husk ash, olive waste and coconut-based industrial ground granulated blast furnace slag, fly ultra-fine steel slag. paper also analyses effects calcined uncalcined pozzolanic properties system. It clear from studies that tend provide greater reactivity compared wastes, helps early strength development findings indicate hydraulic properties, thereby making them an

Using Different Methods of Nanofabrication as a New Way to Activate Supplementary Cementitious Materials; a Review
Reducing the consumption of cement with simultaneous utilizing waste materials as cement replacement is preferred for reasons of environmental protection. Blended cements consist of different supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs), such as fly ash, silica fume, Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS), natural pozzolans, etc. These materials should be chemically activated to show effec...
متن کاملAgro-industrial wastes and their utilization using solid state fermentation: a review
Agricultural residues are rich in bioactive compounds. These residues can be used as an alternate source for the production of different products like biogas, biofuel, mushroom, and tempeh as the raw material in various researches and industries. The use of agro-industrial wastes as raw materials can help to reduce the production cost and also reduce the pollution load from the environment. Agr...
متن کاملUse of Agro-Industrial Wastes in Solid-State Fermentation Processes
Large amount of wastes is generated every year from the industrial processing of agricultural raw materials. Most of these wastes are used as animal feed or burned as alternative for elimination. However, such wastes usually have a composition rich in sugars, minerals and proteins, and therefore, they should not be considered “wastes” but raw materials for other industrial processes. The presen...
متن کاملBiotechnological Production of Xylitol from Agro-Industrial Wastes
Xylitol is a polyalcohol of five carbon atoms which is widely used in the food and chemical industry. Its interest is due to the sweetening power similar to that of sucrose. However, it has been shown that the use of xylitol as a sweetener is better due to its anticariogenecity, tooth rehardening and remineralization properties. It is suitable as sugar substitute for diabetics, and it limits th...

In this work, oil mill wastewater (OMW), a residue generated during olive oil extraction, was evaluated as an inducer of rhamnolipid production. Using a medium containing as sole ingredients corn steep liquor (10%, v/v), sugarcane molasses (10%, w/v) and OMW (25%, v/v), Pseudomonas aeruginosa #112 produced 4.5 and 5.1g of rhamnolipid per liter in flasks and reactor, respectively, with critical ...
